SistaPAC Projects

Webisode Series

SistaPAC Productions is pleased to announce the launch of its largest project to date - a webisode series entitled "Kindred." What started as an idea has taken us on an incredible journey. We began with the birth of a 1-hour serial drama which was submitted to a major network. We, like many other writers, experienced polite rejection: “we like the writing, but the series just isn’t a fit for our network at the moment.” That moment convinced us to venture out on our own. Since then we’ve been blessed with an amazing array of contributions, resources and supporters, all of which has allowed us to shoot enough footage for the first three webisodes which will debut online at http://www.kindredseries.com.

Dramatic. Engrossing. Chaotic. - Enter the world of Kindred...

Providing a no-holds-barred look at issues that all women face, Kindred reveals how three everyday women tackle love, life, and work, while dealing with daunting, life-changing issues such as sexual harassment, infidelity, drug abuse, deadly diseases, racism, and homosexuality.  Enter the world of Karmella Scott, Collette Robbins and Angelina Chambers, three twenty-something African-American women who are first cousins, as they navigate family, work and love against the gritty skyline of New York City.

Stage Plays

In Summer 2009, SistaPAC Productions produced the stage play "Gray."  The play was written by Ella Turenne, directed by Jessica Hartley and stage managed by Maureen Aladin.

"Gray" was featured as part of the 'Come Celebrate The Glory of Sugar Hill' Theatre Festival. The Theatre Festival is sponsored by Heritage Health and Housing, Inc.

Life and death collide in this tale of redemption and forgiveness. What does it take to forgive someone? Is it easier to forgive someone you don’t really know that well? Someone you think you hate? Or someone who is a member of your own family? This dramatic piece explores the relationship of a racially diverse family: a granddaughter and grandfather’s quest for forgiveness, redemption and the ability to make peace with the past and present.

Short Films

In June 2004, SistaPAC began working on a series of short films entitled "Sunday Shorts." The idea was for each member to write a short script with the intention of serving as it's producer and director. Other members would serve as actors. Each short film was to be shot on a Sunday and be no longer than a day-long shoot. We are happy to present our "Sunday Shorts" series.

Viagra Dialgues

Laverne, the elitist. Inez, the flirt. Gladiola, the meek. Bertha, the blunt. What happens when four Black women get together for an afternoon of cards and drinks? Who knows? Anything goes in this hilarious comedic short.

Celebrity Babble

It’s amazing how much time we spend concerning ourselves with the everyday lives of celebrities. Will we ever focus on our own ambitions, our own dreams and our own desires to succeed, or will we continue to live vicariously through those who bask in the limelight of success? At Lysie’s Hair Salon, celebrity talk is the norm and seems to be the only thing these ladies care about. One customer sticks out like a sore thumb and sets the record straight...is she a blessing or a curse?

woodshed

Woodshed. His music. Her art. Their love. What happens when two artists just can’t communicate? They let the art do the talking. Woodshed, a semi-silent short film where the music is as much of a character as the actors, tells the story of August and Clef. When they break up, they use their music to communicate with each other, saying all the things they couldn’t get out with words.
